Bonjour my dear Sous-Chefs, How you all doing? I'm doing awesome. Today I'm gonna share a famous Chinese vegetarian recipe which is my personal favorite of all time.
I'm basically a carnivore😄 who loves to have meat in every meal. But there are more alternatives for meat if you are a vegetarian or in diet. That is Cauliflower, Paneer, Baby Corn and Mushrooms.
This recipe can be made within 20minutes, so do consider this when you have sudden visitors to your home, everybody would appreciate you.
There are two methods involving in this recipe, first we have to fry the cauliflowers and then make the sauce to toss the fried cauliflowers in.
Ingredients Needed For Frying Cauliflower
- Cauliflower - 1
- All purpose flour/Maida - 2tbsp
- Corn Flour - 2tbsp
- White Pepper - 1tbsp
- Salt - as required.
- Water - as required.
Method of Preparation
- Mix all the above mentioned ingredients to a consistency which is neither thick nor too watery.
- Now add the cut raw cauliflowers which are washed in salt water.
- Mix it well and fry in oil until golden crispy.
- Keep it aside.
Ingredients Needed for Sauce
- Oil - 2tbsp
- Finely Chopped Garlic - 1tbsp
- Onion Part of the Spring Onion - 2tbsp
- Red Chilli Paste - 1tbsp
How to make Red Chilli Paste at home?
Add 15-20 red Kashmiri Chilies to the boiling water and cook it until the raw smell goes. Strain the water and let the chilies cool down to room temperature. Blend it with 25ml of vinegar in a mixer Jar. You can store this paste up to 1-2 months in fridge.
- White Pepper - 1tsp
- Salt - as required
- Tomato Ketchup - 1tbsp
- Sugar - 1tsp
- Soya Sauce - 1tbsp
- Corn Flour - 1tbsp
- Green Part of Spring Onion - 2tbsp
- Water - 50ml
Method of Preparation
- Add oil to the pan and sauté the chopped garlic until golden brown.
- Now add the onion part of the spring onion to it.
- Add Red Chilli paste, white pepper, salt and tomato ketchup to it.
- Sauté it well and then add sugar, soya sauce to it.
- Add 50ml of water to it.
- In a small bowl, take 1tbsp of corn flour, add some water and mix it to a milky consistency. This gives thickness to the sauce.
- Add 2tbsp corn flour water to it.
- Sauté it until the sauce is thick.
- Now add the fried cauliflowers to the sauce and toss it in high flame.
- Serve it with the lavish sprinkle of green part of the spring onion.
There you go, Enjoy your restaurant style Gobi Manchurian at home.
Serve it quick because it loses it's crispiness and becomes soggy for every 10 minutes.
